Yonder Collective – Privacy Policy

In accordance with the new data protection laws in force from 25th May 2018.

 

Yonder Collective take data protection seriously and are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy explains how Yonder collect, use and handle any personal information collected from you when you use the Yonder website at www.yondercollective.com. The areas of the website which involve you passing us your personal information are the ‘Join Our Community’ or ‘Contact’ sections of the website.

Additionally, we also collect information about those that interact with us through our Instagram account, whether by liking our posts, following us, or commenting on the posts we make.

Please read the following carefully to understand Yonder’s views and practices regarding your personal data and how it is treated. By visiting the website, ‘Joining Our Community’ or purchasing tickets to events you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

Collecting Your Personal Information - This is data that you give Yonder.

We collect data in different ways. We collect data about you if you:

  • subscribe to our mailing list

  • send Yonder a message through our website or correspond with Yonder by telephone in writing or otherwise.

  • participate in a discussion or commenting on our instagram

  • enter a competition, promotion or take part in a survey

  • purchase tickets to our events

 

To receive mail outs from Yonder, you must have subscribed to our mailing list. We send out surveys to individuals who have attended an event. Where your information is passed onto us (for example through a ticketing platform), or have contacted us via telephone or in writing.

 

To subscribe to our mailing list we ask for the following information; your name and email address.

 

Information Yonder receive from other sources – This is data passed onto Yonder.

Through the nature of our business, we often receive information about you through third parties (e.g. recommendations, mutual parties and potential collaborators). We may collect information about you if:

  • Others post, write about and ‘tag’ you, or link to your profile through our social media (Instagram) platform and/or website.

  • You and others post content that includes information about you on our social media platform and/or website.

  • Other community members / collaborating partners provide information to us.

We work closely with third parties (including, for example, featured artisans of our events, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services) and may receive information about you from them. At present our ticketing is handled through Stripe inc.

 

How Yonder collects and uses your information:

If you have consented to receive our emails by subscribing to the Yonder mailing list you will receive;

  • information about upcoming events, brands of interest stated as ‘featured artisans’ and occasional newsletters.

 

  • to send you emails or direct messages that contain promotions on behalf of our third-party partners named as ‘featured artisans’ of Yonder events including:

 

    • Event information

    • Wellbeing

    • Food & drinks products

    • Floristry

    • Home furnishing & suppliers

    • Retail

    • Culture

    • Hotels & resorts

 

If you are attending a Yonder event then you have given consent to receive the following;

 

  • important and relevant information concerning your booking, details regarding the event and direct emails to gather information e.g. dietary requirements & travel.

 

If you have made an enquiry through the website, telephoned or written to Yonder we may obtain your information and contact you.

 

If you have followed, liked or participated in discussion including commenting on an Instagram post or direct messaging through the Instagram platform we may obtain your information and contact you.

 

  • Where appropriate, we may use this information to promote you to other parties as a suggested account to follow, work with or promote that Yonder have worked with.

 

We will not share your personal information with third parties (such as marketing companies) unless authorised to do so.

 

We do not store credit card details - all banking details are managed through Stripe ticketing platform.

 

We do not use cookies.

 

How Yonder Might Share Your Information

We may engage third parties to undertake some of our email communications. We may provide those third parties access to personal information for the sole purpose of them providing their services to us. We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that those third parties only use your personal information for the specific purposes for which it is provided to them.

We use third party platforms to carry out payments. Currently this is Stripe inc.

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • to related companies to Yonder e.g if working in collaboration on an event and suppliers require details of guests e.g for dietary requirements, menu design.

  • to law enforcement authorities, if Yonder suspect that an unlawful act is being committed or that such disclosure will prevent that unlawful act.

  • as otherwise required or authorised by law.

Security of Your Personal Information – What Yonder does to protect your information

We store personal information through our website platform Square Space, Googe Drive and Instagram  and rely on their security measures. Yonder cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of Yonder’s physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Accessing Your Personal Information

You are entitled to know what personal information Yonder holds about you. You are also entitled to update or correct your personal information. If you would like to contact Yonder in relation to your personal information, please do so by email. As of 25 May 2018, these rights will be replaced by their equivalents in the “GDPR” section immediately below.

You shall have the right, in accordance with the GDPR, to obtain from Yonder the following:

  • Right of confirmation
    Confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are being processed.

  • Right of access
    Free information about the personal data Yonder stores about you at any time and to receive a copy of it.

  • Right to rectification
    Rectification without undue delay of inaccurate personal data about you.

  • Right to erasure (Right to be forgotten)
    The erasure of personal data concerning you without undue delay, subject to Our legal rights and obligations to retain the same.

  • Right of restriction of processing
    Restriction of processing where:

    • you contest the accuracy of the personal data, for a period while Yonder verify its accuracy;

    • the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of your personal data and request that it be restricted instead;

    • Yonder no longer need your personal data for the purposes of the processing, but do require them for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; and

    • you do not agree with Yonder’s assessment that the processing is permitted for Yonder’s “legitimate interests”, for a period while verification is carried out as to whether those interests override your own interests.

  • Right to data portability
    You shall have the right to have the personal data concerning you, which was provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have it transmitted to another entity (to the extent that such data was processed by Yonder on the basis of consent or because it such processing was necessary for the performance of a contract).

Additionally, you will have the following rights:

  • Right to object

    • to object on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time, to processing of personal data concerning you, which is based on Yonder’s legitimate interests. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions;

    • to object to Yonder processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes. This applies to profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing;

  • Automated individual decision-making, including profiling
    Not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you, or similarly significantly affects you.
